Volleyball 360 comes alive as Kapahera girls (Assam) and YPC Ishok boys (Manipur) clinch inaugural Brahmaputra Volleyball League Interstate title
The winners of community leagues in Assam, Manipur, Jharkhand, Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir participated in the tournament held in Guwahati

Guwahati, Monday, 5th October: The first edition of the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) Interstate Championship competition concluded with the Kapahera girls (Assam) and YPC Ishok boys (Manipur) lifting the winners' trophies following a gripping final here at the Guwahati Volleyball Coaching Centre on Sunday.
The three-day tournament is part of the Volleyball 360 initiative launched by Dani Sports Foundation in partnership with BVL, where the U-16 winning teams from five states— Assam, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Odisha—compete for the trophy. Inspired by the BVL’s community-led model, Dani Sports Foundation took grassroots volleyball to the aforementioned states, successfully piloting leagues in remote regions that brought hundreds of young boys and girls into organised competition and sparked a new wave of volleyball across communities.

Mrs. Vita Dani, Co-founder, Dani Sports Foundation, who was present for the final match, stated, "I believe India's sporting strength will be built from villages, schools and community leagues. I am deeply inspired by the impact that Abhijit Bhattacharya and BVL are making in Assam. Together through Volleyball 360, we aim to expand the community leagues to the other states and create a robust grassroots volleyball ecosystem in India."

Former Indian volleyball team captain Abhijit Bhattacharya added, "I am extremely proud to see the Brahmaputra Volleyball League model being adopted in other states. Today, at the BVL Interstate Championship, we witnessed the impact that a structured community-led grassroots competition can have on the sport. With Dani Sports Foundation and under the Volleyball 360 initiative, I believe we have taken the first step towards achieving the goal of inspiring 1 million children to play volleyball before the 2036 Olympics."

The conclusion of BVL Interstate competition increases anticipation for the start of Season 7 of Brahmaputra Volleyball League in Assam, scheduled to take place at Mudoibil, Majuli from 11th October 2026. The previous edition saw participation from over 400 teams as the league continues to increase its footprint in the state, impacting more than 10,000 young boys and girls since the inaugural season in 2020
