ABOUT THE PROJECT

Dani Sports Foundation is working with the Hockey Ace Foundation on a strategic impact assessment. Hockey Ace Foundation, set up by Tata Trusts and Tata Steel, runs two leading residential academies: the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) in Jamshedpur and the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (ONTHHPC) in Bhubaneswar.

SCOPE OF ASSESMENT

As part of this initiative, DSF is undertaking a comprehensive review of both academies to evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for enhancement. The assessment spans key domains, including:

  • Athlete development pathways

  • Coaching structures and methodology

  • Sports science and athlete well-being

  • Infrastructure utilisation

  • Governance and administration

  • Stakeholder engagement and academy culture

OUR APPROACH

Our process combines field visits, in-depth consultations with stakeholders including coaches, athletes, and support staff, and benchmarking against global best practices in high-performance sport. The objective is to develop a grounded, insight-driven roadmap that can inform future strategies for operational excellence and athlete-centric development.

By leveraging its sectoral expertise, Dani Sports Foundation is supporting Hockey Ace Foundation in strengthening its academies and shaping them into models for world-class athlete nurturing in India.
